For a Sikh, the ultimate destination is Sachkhand. ✨

So teaching our children Gurmukhi is not simply about preserving Punjabi. It is about keeping open their direct pathway to Gurbani, Gurmat and Gursikhi.

Bhai Nirmalbir Singh Ji explains that Dhur Ki Baani came from Sachkhand. A translation may explain parts of its meaning, but it cannot fully carry the original sound, depth and spiritual power of Gurbani in Gurmukhi.

If our children cannot read Gurmukhi, how will they experience and understand Gurbani for themselves?

Parents and grandparents must help Punjabi live at home through everyday conversation and practice. Let our children learn as many languages as they can, but never at the cost of losing the language that connects them with Guru Sahib.
