Ideal candidate will possess the following:
- 10+ years experience in heavy equipment
- Able to operate heavy equipment to load, transport, move, spread and grade materials at any given construction site, using all required attachments.
- Perform pre-operational inspection/ preventative & elementary maintenance on equipment according to owner and manufacturer specifications.
- Report defects or needed repairs immediately to supervisor.
-Record all details of inspections, maintenance and other work done on the heavy equipment while in the field in the machine's log book.
- Clean, grease & fuel all equipment, as scheduled and required.
- Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored.
- Maintain inventory of equipment.
- Communicate effectively with crew via hand signals and radio communications.
- Ensure awareness of all site conditions that could affect heavy equipment operation (i.e. overhead power lines, workers, mobile equipment, pedestrians, etc.).
- Lead by example and take constructive criticism well.
- Wear and own the required PPE for the site. (Steel toe boots, hard hat, safety vest, etc)
- Perform housekeeping tasks and other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Wages vary based on experience.
