On the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, we affirm that hate and discrimination have no place in our world. Our diversity strengthens us, and has never hurt no one.

As allies, we stand with 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. Everyone deserves to live without fear of violence or discrimination. Let’s all stand strong against threats, hate and violence toward 2SLGBTQIA+ people. Our industry and our communities are stronger when we work together and eliminate hate

April is Construction and Skilled Trades Month. If you are interested in joining the industry, the BC government has various ways to help!

This is an amazing opportunity for anyone who identifies as a woman, to get into a busy and interesting career in construction

There’s never a dull moment in this trade! Construction Craft Workers (Labourers) are crucial staff on diverse worksites from construction to industrial, where they are busy prepping and cleaning, setting up and removing equipment, handling materials, working on demolition and excavation, and more.

BCCWITT and LiUNA1611 are partnering to offer a fully funded 4-week intro course for women (including transwomen) from May 6-31, where successfully participants will achieve their SkilledTradesBC Construction Craft Worker Level 1 certification. As we welcome the Holy Month of Ramadan, I would like to extend my warmest greetings to all our Muslim colleagues and their families. Ramadan is a time of reflection, spiritual growth, and renewal. It is a time for all of us to come together and celebrate the blessings of this special month.
During this month, let us take a moment to reflect on our lives and appreciate the blessings we have been given. Let us also show kindness, compassion, and generosity towards one another, especially to those in need.
As we observe the fasting month, I would like to extend my well wishes to all our Muslim colleagues. May this Ramadan bring you peace, happiness, and blessings. May your fasts be accepted, and may you find strength and clarity of mind and spirit.
We understand that Ramadan is an important time for our Muslim colleagues, and we will make every effort to support them during this time. We encourage all employees to be respectful and understanding of their colleagues' beliefs and practices.
Once again, we wish all our Muslim colleagues a blessed and peaceful Ramadan. Ramadan Mubarak!
