Activities to include as part of a Benefits & Total Compensation package can include the following:

1. Access to resources which support mental health goals; social, psychological and emotional.

2. Wellness Hours - up to a certain number of hours per calendar year to focus on mental health, physical health, and financial stability. For example: Yoga and breathwork classes, time to visit a mental health practitioner, access to an on-site (or nearby) gym facility to schedule time for physical fitness, and access to a financial advisor to review personal finance goals, etc.

3. Balancing work with volunteer days - supporting community-led initiatives which are important to individuals in different ways. For example: designated number of hours spent volunteering at a food bank, at a local charity of interest, taking part in community fundraisers or various social causes which contribute to our global community - check out the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG link below).

4. Personal Time Off (PTO) - using personal time off for rest days

5. Career Development - having consistent time set aside to review performance goals with your people/performance leader.

6. Promote healthy eating habits by having healthy food options on-site (not discounting sharing the occasional treats).

7. Cross-functional learning; supporting employees by enhancing their learning capacity within different departments. Allow pairing up with team members in different areas of work to build relationships, grow skill sets, and benefit from establishing multi-functioning teams.

To achieve organizational KPI’s, employee wellbeing initiatives play a role in supporting the mental, physical and overall wellbeing of your team to ensure they are able to perform their work effectively.

Whether the focus of your business is to increase financial gains, grow your market share, expand your existing talent pool, increase productivity or amplify your brand’s presence, wellbeing is joint-venture.

1. Have written communications on ALL company policies. Keep records updated and readily accessible.

2. Advise Human Resource Business Partners (HRBP’s) & HR Advisors to remain informed of all employment regulations dependent on region.

3. Spot-check your HR compliance measures regularly to identify gaps and opportunities for development.

4. Communicate changes/updates/new developments within your organization. Note - ALL employees contribute towards 100% HR Compliance!

5. Improve 1% daily. Compliance standards may not always be perfectly achieved. Take mishaps as learning opportunities to improve daily work-flows.

Here are 3 strategies managers can utilize for a seamless process:

- Exit Interviews: Meet with the departing employee and acknowledge their contributions made towards the business/company. Gain their valuable feedback to improve the workplace and reduce turnover in the future.

- Knowledge Transfer & Transfer of Power - Encourage a warm hand-off of projects, knowledge, and ownership to reduce disruption and continue momentum towards goals and productivity.

Thoughtful strategies to incorporate an overwhelming process to make it more seamless:

- Welcome Packages: Create a meaningful onboarding kit with company merchandise, key contact information, and important documents—make them feel a sense of belonging before they even start!

- Introductions: Send warm team introductions to all key stakeholders and affiliates. Include invites to future team meetings, and company networking opportunities to encourage ‘meet and greets’.

- Tools and Training: Share resources, set up accounts, and communicate accesses to help get them ‘up-to-speed’. Remain vigilant & accessible if you are the direct-reporting leader.
