Activities to include as part of a Benefits & Total Compensation package can include the following:
1. Access to resources which support mental health goals; social, psychological and emotional.
2. Wellness Hours - up to a certain number of hours per calendar year to focus on mental health, physical health, and financial stability. For example: Yoga and breathwork classes, time to visit a mental health practitioner, access to an on-site (or nearby) gym facility to schedule time for physical fitness, and access to a financial advisor to review personal finance goals, etc.
3. Balancing work with volunteer days - supporting community-led initiatives which are important to individuals in different ways. For example: designated number of hours spent volunteering at a food bank, at a local charity of interest, taking part in community fundraisers or various social causes which contribute to our global community - check out the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG link below).
4. Personal Time Off (PTO) - using personal time off for rest days
5. Career Development - having consistent time set aside to review performance goals with your people/performance leader.
6. Promote healthy eating habits by having healthy food options on-site (not discounting sharing the occasional treats).
7. Cross-functional learning; supporting employees by enhancing their learning capacity within different departments. Allow pairing up with team members in different areas of work to build relationships, grow skill sets, and benefit from establishing multi-functioning teams.
