Fix-It Friday!

This week we’re resealing a fluid actuated brake cylinder from a Gearmatic 119/19 winch.

If you notice the brakes sticking, dragging, or not applying properly, there’s a good chance the cylinder seals are starting to fail. One of the first signs is fluid showing up on the brake side of the winch.

Left too long, leaking fluid can contaminate the brake linings and lead to much more expensive repairs down the road.
