Finally a company that will review your credit card statement and not try to gouge you or convince you to switch processors. It is a very confusing world in the credit card processing and continuously get hassled to try to change providers. Got an assessment done by merchantassist.com by Verisave. I discovered this group through a professional organization (Professional Bookkeepers of Canada). They do a thorough review of your current provider. If they find you savings, then you enter a contract with them and their fee is based on your savings. Most of the time, you don't even change providers, they claim they might get you a better deal. The review I was involved with came with good news. They showed us the effective rate, confirmed that Moneris was one of the top processors in Canada (by volume) and that we were receiving as good a deal on processing services that can be negotiated. "Don't change a thing!" was their advise. It didn't cost a dime.
Every business is different, but I found this review to be helpful and confirming that we had a good deal. I would recommend anyone not completely satisfied with their credit card provider/rates contact merchantassist.com. The only time it will cost you is if it saves you. I didn't have to go through their contract process as there were no savings for us. I don't know how that process works but they are definitely worth a shot. You can always say no, even if they can save you $$$. And no, I did not get paid to post this, just wanted to share a pleasant experience in the credit card processing provider world where it is cut-throat and full of pressure filled tactics.
