Last evening, we participated in a joint water rescue training session with our mutual aid partners at Big Bras d'Or Fire.

The training focused on a variety of essential skills, including dock departures, man overboard recovery, pacing, pivoting, and docking. These exercises help ensure we're prepared to respond safely and effectively when called upon.

Great work by members of both departments. Training together keeps our skills sharp and strengthens the teamwork that our communities rely on.

Last weekend, members from Sydney Mines and North Sydney took part in a Confined Space Rescue Training weekend. Scenarios included both horizontal and vertical rescues, along with supplied air and rope rescue techniques designed to challenge and strengthen our skills in realistic environments.

A huge thank you to Safetychek for providing access to their simulator and the equipment needed to make the training possible, and to NCL for the use of their yard and equipment as training props. Your support helped make the weekend a tremendous success.
