Strong grant results usually come from more than a well-written proposal.

They come from understanding an organization’s priorities, identifying the right opportunities, building a realistic grant pipeline, and creating the systems needed to move applications forward consistently.

Over the past two years, Collaborative Cause has helped one nonprofit client secure approximately $500,000 in new grant funding and secure another $1M in renewable grants.

That kind of progress comes from strategy, strong storytelling, relationships, funder knowledge, and consistent follow-through.

Our Grant Strategy & Writing Support service provides focused monthly support for small to mid-sized Canadian nonprofits that want stronger grant prioritization, funder context, and proposal development.

Stewardship matters, but for many nonprofit teams it is one of the first things to become inconsistent when capacity gets tight.

That is usually not because people do not care. It is because stewardship is often imagined as something bigger and more time-consuming than it needs to be.

In practice, strong stewardship is often built through smaller, more consistent actions.
It does not need to be elaborate to be meaningful.

It may feel early to talk about year-end fundraising or 2027 planning.

It isn’t.

For many nonprofit leaders, the challenge is not a lack of ideas. It is that planning, preparation, and follow-through get pushed aside while urgent priorities take over.

A few questions worth asking now:

• What fundraising priorities matter most for the rest of the year?

• What needs to be in place now to avoid last-minute scrambling?

• Where does your team need more structure, leadership, or support?

Strong fundraising does not happen only when there is an urgent deadline. It comes from having the strategy, systems, and capacity to move important work forward consistently.

I started Collaborative Cause because I saw how many nonprofit leaders were carrying fundraising on top of everything else.

They were leading teams, delivering programs, supporting their communities, and still trying to build the relationships, systems, and strategies needed to sustain their organizations.

Fundraising should not have to rest entirely on the shoulders of one person.

Collaborative Cause supports growing nonprofits across Canada with senior-level fundraising leadership, stronger systems, and practical implementation support that helps organizations move their fundraising forward.

We currently offer two ways to work together:

• Fractional Fundraising Partnership: For organizations that need experienced fundraising leadership, strategy, and follow-through across key priorities.

• Grant Strategy & Writing Support: For organizations that need focused monthly support with grant research, prioritization, funder context, and proposal development.

We currently have capacity for 2 new nonprofit clients for the remainder of 2026.
