A closer look at our new Engine 1!

With final inspection complete, we’re excited to share some of the features and details of our new Pierce Velocity pumper.

Thank you to Commercial Emergency Equipment Co. and Pierce Mfg for working with our department to bring this truck to life. There’s plenty to be proud of!

We look forward to welcoming Engine 1 home to Sylvan Lake soon. Stay tuned for more updates!

🍻 Community Connect is heading to the brewery! 🚒

The Sylvan Lake Fire Department is excited to once again team up with our friends at Snake Lake Brewing Co. to help spread the word about Sylvan Lake Community Connect.

Community Connect is a free and secure program that allows residents and businesses to share important information with our firefighters before an emergency happens, things like pets in the home, mobility or medical considerations, emergency contacts, access information and other details that can help our crews respond more effectively when every second counts.

This Saturday, stop by Snake Lake Brewing, enjoy some live music, grab a local craft b**r and learn a little more about how Community Connect is helping us build a safer and better-connected community.

It’s another great example of Building Bonds Beyond the Fire, local businesses, firefighters and residents working together for Sylvan Lake.

📱 Haven’t signed up yet?
Visit communityconnect.io/info/ab-sylvanlake or watch for the Community Connect QR code while you’re at the brewery.

🎶 Come check out the live music Saturday, support local and say hello!

Help us protect what matters most.

Today, on Firefighters’ National Memorial Day, the Sylvan Lake Fire Department had the honour of travelling to Red Deer to stand alongside emergency services personnel from across Central Alberta in remembrance.

Together, we honour municipal, wildland and industrial firefighters who lost their lives in service to their communities. Behind every name is a person, a family and a crew whose lives were forever changed.

To the families, friends and fellow firefighters carrying that loss, we stand with you. We remember your loved ones and the difference they made.

Their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Today marks the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001. We remember those who lost their lives, honour the courage of the first responders, and stand with our brothers and sisters across the fire service.

We will never forget.

Some of our members are working alongside the Dairy Queen team today for Miracle Treat Day, helping out and supporting this great cause!

Proceeds from every Blizzard® Treat sold at participating Dairy Queen locations today help support Alberta Children’s Hospital and the Stollery’s hospital.

Come on down, say hello to our members, grab a Blizzard, and help make a difference for kids and families who need it most.

A big thank you to Dairy Queen for having us and to everyone in our community who continues to support Miracle Treat Day!

Grab a Blizzard. Support the kids. Help make a difference.

It’s Miracle Treat Day today! We have some volunteers here to spin up some Blizzards in support of the Alberta Children’s Hospital and the Stollery’s Hospital, both of which are right here in Alberta!!
