Today is a day of reflection and listening. A day to listen to the stories and the emotions of the survivors and reflecting back on the atrocities committed by this country in the name of indifference.
We truly hope that as a community there can be strength gathered to continue to carry on.
We also hope that our communities are able to share our beautiful culture to continue to educate and show just how amazing it is.

It has been an overwhelming few weeks for the Aboriginal community with deep wounds being reopened with the discovery of these unmarked mass graves across the country, and the reopening of the trauma that was inflicted by these schools.
These were things that never should of occurred and our hearts break that they did, in moments like this it is important to stand together as a community and it is also important for people to respect the communities during these difficult times. 🧡🧡

With some summer down time I figured I'd expand my horizons and learn more about different industries and sectors. Over the last few weeks I've been learning more about the logging industry and different methods of road building, log harvesting methods/ styles, grading/ sorting logs, and how they leave a site.

Its not very often you get to see a lynx, but even more rare to see 3 of them just hanging out on the side of the road!!

Pipelines are often thought to be a modern invention (in the last 150 years), but the truth is they've been used for millenniums. Often used to transport water for drinking and irrigation, but the first petroleum pipeline is dated back to 400BC where the Chinese used bamboo pipelines to transport natural gas to light their cities!!
Pipelines now days are much more efficient and safe.

Cold mornings seem to make for some beautiful scenes.

Fun Fact for the day- The Alaska Highway or the Alcan Highway as it's also called is ~2,232km long and was constructed in 8 months across untouched wilderness in Northern B.C. and the Yukon!! For anyone who has had the chance to come up here and see how rough the terrain can be realizes how big of an undertaking that was!
