Companion and Transport Driver

We are seeking a dedicated Companion and Transport Driver in the Cardston area to join our team. The ideal candidate is a confident and safe driver and enjoys interacting with seniors, those with disabilities and the general public. Our accessible vans transport individuals and seniors to the hospital, medical appointments, family gatherings and special events.

Duties
- Safely operate vehicle to transport clients, typically in wheelchairs, to appointments, activities or events
- Load and unload clients using manual ramp entry.
- Maintain positive environment and conversation with clients.
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicle, both inside and outside.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding trip schedules and any potential issues.
- Monitor routine maintenance schedules on vehicles as needed.
- Provide personal care for clients as needed.

Qualifications
- Clean drivers abstract with a valid driver's license.
- Class 1, 2, or 4 Drivers License an asset, but required upon hiring
- Experience with seniors, including those with dementia an asset
- Experience with Indigenous community an asset
- Physically able to push and maneuver individuals in a wheelchair up grades.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
- Effective communication skills for interaction with team members and clients.
- Flexible schedule

Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $19.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week

License/Certification:
Class 1, 2 or 4 License upon hiring. Class 4 requires only written test.
