As you can see in these pics the hours it takes to RESTORE a vintage vehicle. New rubber..clips..fasteners..riveting in new latches . Cleaning and servicing all the moving parts inside doors . Glass .ect..

It can take 500 to 1000 hours on this type of restoration
Yes that's $50,000 to $100,000 at only $100 per hour which is barely enough to keep the shop running

I do this on my paint jobs because I ENJOY it...unfortunately it dont pay the bills when I give deals like 65per hour or tell someone I can do a complete for 10k then it turns into a restoration costing me more then i made.....it takes too many hours and it becomes unmanageable for most common budgets ...SO this is the LAST restoration ill be doing for the next foreseeable future.

Moving forward I'll still be doing re sprays . Complete paint jobs on EXTERIORS ONLY . collision work and minor rust repair

Along came a beautiful old VW , brand new floors, inner wheel housing. TONS of time already invested. Lots of patches .. needing filler work.. then....Ready for paint,.!.. Hahahah ....Then of course.. Found some rot... lower windows sills ..hidden under fillers .. finally things are looking better there now.. welding is done so I can move on the next step..
