If every wake overnight feels different, your baby may not know what to expect anymore.

One wake you feed.
The next you rock.
Then you wait.
Then you bring them into bed.
Then nothing works.

This is one of the biggest reasons nights can start feeling unsettled (especially after initial sleep training!)

Babies do best with predictable, consistent responses overnight. When the response changes every wake, it often leads to more frustration, more crying, and more intense wakes over time.

If your baby is waking every 1–2 hours overnight, this is usually the shift happening.

What started as rocking, feeding, bouncing, replacing the soother, or helping them fully to sleep slowly turns into needing more and more support through the night.
Your baby isn’t a bad sleeper.

Nobody talks enough about the mental load behind baby sleep.

It’s not just naps and bedtime. It’s constantly trying to connect the dots between feeding, schedules, regressions, wake windows, nutrition, night wakes, early mornings, your own exhaustion… while functioning on barely any rest yourself.

That’s exactly why we created our More Than Sleep program.

Sometimes feeding support matters. Sometimes anxiety and overwhelm matter. Sometimes you need someone to actually look at the full picture instead of giving generic baby sleep advice.

Starting daycare can completely throw sleep off for a bit and honestly, that adjustment period is really normal even though it can be stressful.

Earlier bedtimes, quiet and longer wind down routines during daycare transitions can make a huge difference in overall sleep, mood, and night wakes. I would also make sure to add some really good one on one time after school.

If you’re in the “daycare naps are creating chaos” phase right now, this is for you!

If your baby falls asleep at bedtime… then wakes 30 to 60 minutes later, that’s called a false start. And for babies 6–12 months, overtiredness is often a big piece of it.

Usually caused by:
→ stretching wake windows too far throughout the day
→ bedtime getting pushed too late
→ relying on a lot of help to fall asleep at bedtime

When babies are fully assisted to sleep, they can sometimes look for that same support again when they surface into lighter sleep… and fully wake up.

Here’s what to try:
→ shorten the last wake window of the day
→ stop stretching wake windows
→ try an earlier bedtime
→ work on putting your baby down more awake

Save this and try it tomorrow!

Sleep training doesn’t “fail” for one simple reason.
It’s usually a mix of things happening at the same time.

Small inconsistencies, unclear expectations, timing that’s a bit off, and a lot of second guessing in the moment.

When there are too many moving pieces, it’s hard for your child to understand what’s expected… and that’s when sleep feels messy.

When things get clear and consistent, sleep tends to follow.

Save this for the nights where everything feels like a question mark 📌
