On the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour and remember survivors of residential schools, and the many children who never returned home.

It is a day to reflect on the ongoing legacy of Canada’s residential school system, the forced removal of Indigenous children from their families, and the intergenerational trauma that continues to be felt today.

Today and every day is an opportunity for all of us in Canada to reflect on this legacy and the role we can play in meaningful reconciliation.
