Since 2010, CE Strategies has partnered with First Nation and Métis communities, along with their supporting organizations, to provide essential tools and services that promote informed decision-making for future planning. CE Strategies is a Northwestern Ontario company dedicated to combining community and regional development strategies with Geographic Information Systems (GIS). At CE Strategies, we offer a range of services that promote effective community management including GIS and GPS mapping services, GIS and GPS training, economic development, land use planning and traditional knowledge data collection. By working with CE Strategies, your community projects will be diversified and empowered for success through prioritizing your goals, setting a realistic plan and working collaboratively for an effective solution. Liam and Aja recently travelled to Cat Lake First Nation!

During the visit, we spoke with community members about their experience with caribou. Elders and land users shared stories of their encounters, along with their personal histories and connection to the land.

These interviews were recorded, and will be preserved for future generations, as well as support an ongoing re-occupancy study.

In September, Liam and Aja visited Lac Seul First Nation!

Over the 3 day trip, we interviewed Elders, land users and Knowledge Keepers. Members shared stories, values, and their experiences on the land.

These conversations were recorded and will be kept with the community to be persevered for future generations, as well as support an ongoing caribou re-occupancy study.

Our Environmental Management Plans combine community knowledge with technical research and geospatial data to protect and manage the environment. 🌲

Each plan is community-driven, and designed to align with the values and vision set by membership. Areas of environmental significance are identified by members, land users, and Elders, then reviewed by environmental experts to develop sustainable solutions. The final document provides recommendations for long-term stewardship of lands and waters.
