Funding announcement!π£
We're excited to share that the Northwestern Ontario Innovation Centre is receiving $1.5 million from the Ontario government through the Trade-Impacted Communities Program (TICP) to support our Boreal Springboard program.
Boreal Springboard is designed to help innovative forestry and forest-based companies establish, grow, and scale in Northwestern Ontario by connecting them with the resources, expertise, and opportunities available across our region.
This investment will help accelerate the commercialization of forestry-related technologies and manufacturing opportunities, protect and create local jobs, and attract new companies and investment to Northwestern Ontario.
Boreal Springboard is strengthened by the collaboration of our regional partners, Centre for Research & Innovation in the Bio-Economy (CRIBE), the Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission (CEDC), Lakehead University, and Confederation College, whose expertise and support are helping create new opportunities for forestry businesses to establish, grow, and innovate in Northwestern Ontario.
Thank you to Minister Kevin Holland and the Government of Ontario for recognizing the potential of our region and investing in the future of forestry innovation in Northwestern Ontario.
Together with our partners, we're building on the region's forestry strengths and creating a place where new ideas, businesses, and opportunities can take root and grow.
