A successful harvest starts with good advice, experienced people and an understanding of your woodlot.

Your woodlot is a crop. What you harvest today — and what you leave growing — helps shape its future.

Support local.
Selling your timber to Townsend Lumber supports local jobs, our local economy and Ontario wood products.

Think long-term.

At Townsend Lumber, we don't want to just buy your timber. We want to work with you as a partner in the long-term management of your woodlot.

Kiln drying is an important step in preparing quality lumber, but the process doesn’t end there.

Once the lumber comes out of the kiln, every board moves through additional quality-control steps before it is ready for our customers. Our NHLA-certified graders re-grade the lumber, boards are measured and tracked using our Vision Tally system, and the finished product is stored indoors to help maintain consistent moisture content and protect its quality.

From drying to grading, measuring, storage and final preparation, every step helps ensure Townsend Lumber is delivering dependable Ontario lumber to customers here at home and around the world.
