At Blue Heron Environmental, we recognize the importance of National Indigenous History Month as an opportunity to reflect on, learn from, and celebrate the histories, cultures, knowledge, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across Canada.
It is timely that next week, during National Indigenous History Month, Kathy-Lynn Morrish, our Environmental and Indigenous Community Support Specialist, will be attending the Canadian Mining Expo (CME) in Timmins.
Kathy-Lynn represents Zhashagi, a wing of Blue Heron Environmental. Zhashagi is the Ojibway word for “Blue Heron,” and is dedicated to supporting Indigenous Communities through environmental training and mentorship, technical reviews of environmental assessments and resource development projects, and environmental monitoring.
Through Zhashagi, we work alongside Indigenous Communities, organizations, and project proponents to support informed decision-making, meaningful engagement, and responsible environmental stewardship.
If you'll be attending CME, we invite you to connect with Kathy-Lynn and learn more about the work we do.
