You don’t have to know everything. You just have to bring your perspective.

The Chamber is recruiting members for six committees and task forces for the 2026-2027 term: City Impact, Advocacy in Action, Member Experience, Chamber for Good, Workforce Task Force, and NEXT Task Force.

Made up of volunteers, committees typically meet once every 6-8 weeks with the goals of either enhancing the Chamber membership experience, or the business climate for Timmins companies, whether at the municipal, provincial, or federal level. Each committee tackles a specific issue or topic, and works to find actionable solutions to related problems. No insider knowledge required.

Work for a member business? You can participate in all Chamber events and activities and have a say in what the Chamber does this year.

There's a seat at the table with your name on it. Ready to join a committee?

We have been made aware of phishing emails being sent to local businesses offering to sell a “Timmins Chamber of Commerce 2026” member or registrant list.

This is a common phishing tactic. Scammers may claim to have access to Chamber member lists, event registrant lists, contact databases, or other business information and offer to sell that information. The sender names, email addresses, and wording may vary.

To be clear, the Timmins Chamber does not sell, share, or distribute member data, contact information, registrant lists, or other membership details to outside parties.

If you receive an email like this:
• Do not reply or provide any information
• Do not click on any links or download attachments
• Mark the message as phishing or spam through your email provider
• Delete the email
• If you have already responded or provided information, consider changing any affected passwords and monitoring your accounts

If you're unsure whether a message claiming to be from or connected to the Timmins Chamber is legitimate, please contact us directly before responding to the original email to [email protected]

Please share this post to help us make sure local businesses are aware.

The way we recruit has changed. Has our approach?

Employers across Timmins are facing growing challenges in attracting and retaining the people they need. Traditional recruitment methods are producing fewer results, candidate behaviour is changing, and barriers like housing are affecting our ability to compete for talent.

Earlier this year, we brought employers and workforce partners together to talk candidly about what is happening and where we can go from here. Those conversations, perspectives, and ideas are now captured in Rethinking Recruitment, the newest instalment in our Kitchen Table Conversation series.

Explore what local employers and workforce partners had to say, and the opportunities identified for thinking differently about how we attract and develop talent.

Thank you to Agnico Eagle Ontario for proudly supporting the Kitchen Table Conversation series, and for your continued partnership in strengthening the region's workforce.

Thank you to M.P. Gaétan Malette for taking the time to meet with our Chamber Board Members yesterday. Along with discussing ongoing Chamber policy and advocacy work, the board also had the opportunity to further discuss federal priorities including critical minerals, infrastructure and connectivity, immigration and labour, justice and public safety, and the rising cost of doing business in the North.

The Chamber looks forward to continuing to work with MP Malette to address these challenges and explore opportunities that support businesses across our region.

Our advocacy starts with our members. If there's a challenge affecting your business or an idea you'd like to see raised with government, help us connect it to the conversations that matter.

Yesterday, our Board came together for our 2026 strategic planning session, and we left fully charged.

Facilitated by Lori-Ann Duguay of People-Powered Solutions, the session gave us a chance to reflect on the past two years and set our sights on the next two. The conversation covered programming delivery, growth, connection, and advocacy, with plenty of ideas making the rounds.

A big thank you to Lori-Ann for helping us stay grounded and channel our best ideas, and to Agnico Eagle Ontario for powering up our planning session day.
