Looking to put your skills to work in mining? We’re looking for Certified and Non-Certified Industrial Mechanic-Millwrights to join our team.

Certified Millwright
• Certified Industrial Mechanic-Millwright
• Experience with pumps, compressors, crushers, mills, hydraulic systems and more
• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical maintenance skills

Non-Certified Millwright
• Working toward your Millwright certification
• 3–5 years of trade experience
• Mining or manufacturing experience is an asset

Both roles involve installation, repairs, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance of surface equipment while working safely and collaboratively with our team.

Four Tournaments, Hundreds of Golfers, One Incredible Season!

What a fantastic way to wrap up Discovery's final employee golf tournament of 2026!

Over the course of four tournaments this season, our employees hit the fairways, shared plenty of laughs, enjoyed some friendly competition, and created lasting memories with colleagues across our operations.

Beyond the great golf, we're especially proud that together we raised funds for, and donated food to, the South Porcupine Food Bank, supporting an organization that plays an important role in our community.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, and helped make this year's tournaments such a success. Your enthusiasm and generosity made this season one to remember.

We're already looking forward to another great year on the course in 2027!

Women are continuing to make their mark in mine rescue, and we’re proud to see Discovery’s own Darianne Dussault helping lead the way.

Darianne, Emergency Response Specialist at Discovery Porcupine’s Hoyle Pond and Borden mines, has been a mine rescue volunteer since 2022 and stepped into her current role in 2025. When she first joined mine rescue, she was the only woman on the roster. Today, more women are getting involved.

“Just having women in this position, promoting mine rescue, is encouraging other women.”
This year, Darianne was one of two women on the Hoyle Pond and Borden mine rescue competition team, which earned a district win and advanced to the Ontario Mine Rescue Provincial Competition in Sudbury.
For Darianne, mine rescue is about much more than competition, it’s about learning, teamwork and being prepared to help when it matters most.

“You’re part of a team that’s focused on helping others. It doesn’t care if you’re male or female, it cares about the teamwork and commitment. We’re all here for the same reason, we want to make the workplace safer.”
We’re proud of Darianne and all of the women who continue to challenge expectations, inspire others and strengthen mine rescue across Ontario.

AUNOR BEACH ROAD & AREA TO CLOSE AUGUST 18-19 FOR EVIDENCE SEARCH

The Timmins Police Service is advising the public that Aunor Beach Road and area will be closed to the public on Tuesday August 18th and Wednesday August 19th, while officers conduct an evidence search in the area.
The closure is necessary to allow investigators to safely and thoroughly conduct the search.

Members of the public are asked to avoid the area and respect the closure while the investigation is underway. Access to the beach will be restricted during this time.
