A few weeks ago, I met a mom in the mall who was exhausted and crying because her baby was barely sleeping. She felt overwhelmed, confused, and honestly just tired of trying everything.
We talked for a few minutes and after so many years working as a newborn care specialist and baby sleep consultant, sometimes one simple conversation already gives me so many clues about what could be adjusted to improve a baby’s sleep. Sometimes it is not a huge change at all. It can be a small shift in routine, timing, environment, overstimulation, feeding patterns, sleep associations, or wake windows that makes a real difference.
Weeks later, she messaged me saying those little changes helped so much and her baby was finally sleeping better.
That is why I always say, support matters. Education matters. And moms should never feel alone during sleep struggles.
