Excited to have our CEO be a part of the Women Entrepreneurship Panel discussion at the Small Business Summit 2022 in association with eBay Canada at 01:30 PM on Oct 26th at the at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre to discuss discuss how we can empower women entrepreneurs through COVID-19 and beyond.

Women are very important in the business industry. Unfortunately, there haven’t been many female entrepreneurs because of the lack of support, which ultimately makes it difficult for a female entrepreneur to survive, especially during the pandemic.

COVID-19 has impacted entrepreneurs in unimaginable ways. It has an even greater impact on female entrepreneurs as they have greater barriers to entry compared to their male counterparts. Trying to stay afloat during these times can be very challenging for women as they are underrepresented.

Women entrepreneurs need us now more than ever, that’s why the event has brought in top female experts to help you learn why women-led ventures will be the backbone of recovery as we move along in the pandemic. This panel will give you the confidence to face any challenges with advice, knowledge, tools and tips from top female entrepreneurs in the industry.

We are excited for this incredible Conversation with Canadian Changemakers that will take place with Shamier Anderson and Stephan James at the , founders of the BLACK Academy (Building a Legacy in Acting, Cinema + Knowledge) B.L.A.C.K ™️]!

Both are incredible talents whereas Stephan James has played in well-known movies such as 'If Beale Street Could Talk', 'Homecoming', and Selma'. He is an Emmy®-, Golden Globe®-, and NAACP Image Award-nominated, and Canadian Screen Award-winning Canadian actor. Shamier Anderson has played in ‘Bruised’ and ‘Invasion’, and soon in the very anticipated ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’. Shamier, actor, producer, writer, and co-founder of Bay Mills Studios was named a TIFF Rising Star (2019).

This pre-recorded presentation will explore the artistic, cultural and social Canadian imprints on programming and awards to advance Black excellence. This session will be hosted by Fabienne Colas, founder of numerous movie festivals, and the Fabienne Colas Foundation.

First day of the Summit will include a tour of the historical sites of African Nova Scotian landmarks, an exploration of the untold 450 year-long history of Black Canadians in Nova Scotia. Throughout the day, the Summit will be hosting a series of youth workshops to be led by amazing creatives on writing and arts. Every youth will be empowered to express themselves and connect to their inner selves and communities. Along with these events, all delegates will participate in roundtables and workshops on human rights, anti-Black racism, and Black health, with a focus on mental health and wellness.

La première journée du Sommet comprendra une visite des sites historiques des points de repère africains de la Nouvelle-Écosse, une exploration de l'histoire inédite des 450 ans d'existence des Canadiens noirs en Nouvelle-Écosse. Tout au long de la journée, le Sommet proposera une série d'ateliers pour les jeunes, animés par des créateurs exceptionnels, sur l'écriture et les arts. Chaque jeune aura la possibilité de s'exprimer et de se connecter à son moi intérieur et à sa communauté. Parallèlement à ces événements, tous les délégués participeront à des tables rondes et des ateliers sur les droits de l'homme, le racisme anti-Noir et la santé des Noirs, en mettant l'accent sur la santé mentale et le bien-être.
