๐Ÿ‘‹ Meet the Kingston team!

These fine folks are central to our mission to help the world transition to an environmentally responsible future by recovering rare earth elements from the difficult-to-recycle products of the modern world. Across a spectrum ranging from metallurgy and process engineering to intricate business planning, each team member is engaged in the ongoing creation of a sustainable life cycle for rare earth elements.

๐Ÿ™‹We recycle rare earth elements from rare earth magnets inside certain electronics. What are rare earth magnets, and how do they work?

โžก๏ธ Rare-earth magnets are the strongest type of permanent magnets made today, and they are made from, in part, rare earth elements.

The two most common types of rare earth magnets are Neodymium and Samarium Cobalt, and they have some different uses - a Neodymium magnet might be found in a microphone or a direct current motor, while Samarium Cobalt magnet can be used in aerospace and defense systems.

As for how they work: like any other magnet! Howstuffworks has this great primer on magnetism.

How can Canada bring together the rare earth elements supply chain? Our CEO, Ahmad Ghahreman, recently talked on this topic at the REIA - The Global Rare Earth Industry Association conference in Barcelona!

In an expert panel, Ahmad discussed the value and significance of rare earth magnets. We look forward to future conversations about the ways Canadian businesses like ours can help businesses recycle, provide the market with a secure and regional supply of critical metals, and do so in an ethical, economic, and sustainable way.
