In this chapter, I will break down each of the pillars of C.A.L.M. and how we can apply them to create a positive impact on your business.
To illustrate this I want to use the concept of water. Imagine for a moment that you are on a ship on rough seas.
The water is churning, it’s raining heavily and the thunder is belting out loud like an angry person, with lightning striking hard and fast. I
It’s scary and it’s very hard to maintain your footing on the ship.
You are being swung from side to side.
It’s chaos and a descriptor of exactly what it’s like for your business when the financial operations are out of control.
But, in the midst of it, there is a calm, smooth patch of water, the central eye of the storm.
Small ripples gently extend but the center is completely flat like glass..
You know if you get there you will be safe, whilst the storm rages around you.
You know if you can get there you will be able to regain your footing and wait until the storm subsides.
It’s a place of C.A.L.M. When we are in this place, we can think more clearly, and make better decisions as we aren’t operating from a place of fear and adrenaline.
So many business owners operate from a place of fear and adrenaline as they are trapped in a chaotic storm, where they need to get to that place of C.A.L.M. so they can make the
right decisions.
