Water is a critical resource for mining – but also for our host communities, and for the flora and fauna surrounding our operations.

At Equinox Gold, water stewardship is built into how our mines are planned and operated, guided by leading frameworks like the Mining Association of Canada’s Towards Sustainable Mining protocols and the World Gold Council’s Responsible Gold Mining Principles.

These are a few of the ways we work to protect shared water resources for the future:

💧Our site teams monitor water quality, manage risk and track clear performance targets.

💧We tailor our management plans to local climates, whether in arid regions or areas with distinct wet and dry seasons.

💧We focus heavily on water reuse, reclaiming and recycling water from heap leach pads and tailings facilities to reduce reliance on community sources.

Respecting human rights is part of how we do business at Equinox Gold – from our workplaces and supply chains to the communities near our mines.

Guided by international standards like the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, we focus on areas where our work can have the greatest impact.

Key focus areas include labour conditions, Indigenous rights, land and security, community health and livelihoods.

Our approach includes:

✅Clear policies and standards, including our Code of Conduct, Social Responsibility and Human Rights Policy and Supplier Code of Conduct

✅Due diligence and training for employees, security providers and suppliers on their human rights responsibilities

✅A workplace culture that rejects discrimination, harassment and abusive labour practices

✅Respectful, ongoing engagement with local and Indigenous communities

✅Accessible grievance channels at each site and a Company-wide anonymous Whistleblower Hotline
