【Announcement】Patent Granted in Mexico

When installing hydroelectric power equipment in agricultural waterways, for example, in agricultural canals, the flow rate significantly fluctuates depending on the season-non₋irrigation period (when irrigation is not conducted), irrigation period, and plowing period-making it difficult to maintain optimal energy generation efficiency. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce hydroelectric power equipment that can respond to the variations in water volume within the waterways. Additionally, it is equally required that the equipment does not require laborious debris removal and takes biodiversity into consideration. ELIS CO., LTD. will proceed with project formation with partners, including those in foreign countries, who can effectively utilize this intellectual property.

【Announcement】Patent Granted in Brazil

Open-Type Micro Hydropower Generator “WaterWeco®” Secures Patent in the Federative Republic of Brazil

ELIS Corporation (Headquarters: Okayama City, Japan) is pleased to announce that in November 2025, we have been granted a patent in the Federative Republic of Brazil for our independently developed open-type micro hydropower generator “WaterWeco®”. WaterWeco® is equipped with the world’s first mechanism that automatically adjusts the water inlet angle to the optimal position even when flow rate or water level fluctuates.

This breakthrough enables stable 24/7/365 power generation even in extremely small-scale water channels and low-head conditions (flow rate of approximately 2.0 m³/s 〜or higher and head of about 1.5 m), which were previously considered difficult for conventional micro-hydropower systems, such as agricultural irrigation canals and factory drainage channels. Brazil is home to countless untapped small water channels.

This technology is expected to make a significant contribution to off-grid power supply and electricity cost reduction in rural and industrial areas across the country. With this patent now secured, we will accelerate collaboration with local partners to expand deployment in the Brazilian market.
