Now I'm not claiming these are the exact tools you should be using - but after a ton of trial and error and honestly evaluating the needs of my own business, these are the absolute best tools *for me* to best serve my business and support my client's successes⁠

WHAT ARE BANNED HASHTAGS?

Seemingly self-explanatory, banned hashtags are dangerous because the majority of them are innocuous terms that have been found to host content that doesn’t follow the platform’s guidelines.

Unknowingly using banned hashtags can result in the following:
-people who don’t follow you will not be able to see your content,
-your content will not show up in the search function or be recommended in users’ feeds,
-your account can be flagged, which also negatively impacts reach. (!!!)

Banned hashtags aren’t always obvious!

For example, the hashtagged words ‘date’, ‘boho’, ‘adulting’, ‘workflow’, and even ‘beautyblogger’ are banned.
(Hashtag Mileycyrus is also banned. That isn’t particularly informative in this case but I absolutely needed you to know that fact.)

How to fix this?

Use a hashtag search tool like Flick that filters for banned tags (not sponsored), or make sure to SEARCH every hashtag you use. If the message on the last slide of this post shows up, the hashtag is BANNED!
