Hey everyone, I’m in the process of leveling up my copywriting skills with the help of some awesome software I’ve recently invested in. It’s going to take a lot of work on my end, and instead of just writing random copy to practice, I’d much rather be writing for a real business or two.

I’m looking for a couple of volunteers who wouldn’t mind letting me experiment with their copy. I’m not charging for my time—just asking for a small contribution toward the hard costs of the software and course I bought. Some examples of the copy I’d like to create include email marketing campaigns, social media posts, landing pages, blog posts, and YouTube scripts.

Do You Know Who You Are as a Business … And As Important Do Your Customers?

Recently, I Shared a Case Study of - An Unprofitable Business

“We need more sales” was what our pest control client believed they needed the most.

This is tactical and jumping to a conclusion without understanding the bigger picture and problem.

Or as my business partner Steve says, this is like getting a prescription without a diagnosis. Doesn’t make sense, does it?

We don’t start with tactics, we start with or the diagnosis.

I’m going to break this case study down into smaller bite-sized pieces and a multi-part series in order to provide a bit more detail.

Pain Point - Sometimes you think the problem in your business is one thing when it’s really not.

Not knowing exactly where to start or what to focus on is a big challenge for a lot of people.

We start every client relationship with a of the business, we have 12 step that we follow. It doesn’t take too long and it reveals a surprising amount of information.

In our analysis and assessment of this client, we identified that they were …

Lacking a clear identity.

They didn’t have a - Unique Selling Proposition or a
Market Dominating Position.

I can’t stress how important this is.

If you don’t know who you are as a business, who your target is, how to connect with them, and how you can best serve them through a super clear and articulate identity that is mutually understood, by you and your customer you are going to struggle.

There is no need to .

Once you get clear and communicate your market-dominating position, the world can be your oyster.

After our analysis, the first action we took was to develop a marketing strategy beginning with establishing a Market Domination Position and a messaging strategy to support the position.

This stuff is really fundamental to your success.

Then get off on the right foot and or reboot…

Make sure you have a defined USP/Market Dominating Position.

Package it in an easy to say, and easy to understand way.

Build your message around the USP.

You will be clearer on how you portray your business and your customer will be clearer on why they want to do business with you.

Because we got clear for them …. This is what happened ...
