Today, we join the world in celebrating the Day of the African Child. This year’s theme of Eliminating Harmful Practices Affecting Children: Progress on Policy and Practice since 2013 reminds us that we still have a long way to go in eliminating harmful practices.

We believe that if we share knowledge about child protection and governments implement children’s rights, we can achieve the goals of the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child. We continue to urge our leaders to invest in equal and quality education to secure the future of our children. Let us work together to create a better future for our children in Africa and the world.

We call upon you to reflect on what we can do to make the world better for our children and reach out to us to action your ideas.
