We are so excited that we got to work on this incredible project. Women’s health does not get enough attention, so we hope this beautiful space will get women in the doors and feeling better. • .ca We worked with the talented women of to transform our clinic. As two businesses that work to empower people, the synergy was immediate. "It's of particular significance when we can take on a project that supports the wellness of women," they told us. "We wanted to create a space that was safe, clean and inviting." As women in a male-dominated industry, they know what it's like to be in places that don't always feel so welcoming. "We face biases and skepticism that do not exist for our male counterparts," they said when we asked about their experiences. "It is assumed we don't have the strength for the physical demands of the job. Often, we are either patronized and quizzed about basic construction knowledge or overly praised for being women in the industry with high-fives on the lumber yard." That's why they're passionate about making sure the next generation of women who love to build things know this is a viable, fulfilling career path. "We did not grow up seeing women represented in the trades, which makes us conscious of setting a positive example for a new generation of women entering the trades. As we carve a path for others to follow, we are changing people's mindsets about what a contractor looks like."
