We are very romantic about honey bees but native pollinators are the canary in the coal mine. What hurts honey bees also hurts native bees and vice versa.

Maybe honeybees get too much attention. They are agricultural animals, like sheep or cattle, and they sometimes make life harder for wild bees. In fact, the bees in true peril are the wild ones.

Local honey! Completely raw, unfiltered and ethically processed without any bee losses. Columbine Ave beekeeper has a limited quantity of late harvest honey with mild goldenrod overtones. $20 per 1 kg jar. I am also available for classroom bee talks. Hive tours for very small groups possible next summer.
