Welcome Frederick Vaamonde to the family of certified 3V Communication Coaches!

"I was looking for a professional mentor to guide me in the initiation of a new career as a Communication Coach. Ric and the 3Vs curriculum has granted me the knowledge and confidence that I needed to be able to establish myself as a credible coach and competent communication professional. The materials were extremely useful, practical, learning rich and comprehensive. This course is VITAL if you already have the confidence and motivation or even if you lack both direction and security. Ric’s guidance is solid, reliable, consistent and reassuring."

Most people are promoted into management because they were good at their old job, not because anyone taught them how to lead.

Challenges can happen immediately.

They need to quickly identify the absolutely vital communication skills that actually make or break a new manager: how to have the difficult conversations everyone wants to avoid, how to build genuine rapport and trust with a team, and the everyday verbal and non-verbal communication habits that turn a capable individual into a leader people want to follow.

I will be hosting a conversation with HR leaders on this very topic in Toronto on November 11th. We will tackle challenges, discuss alternatives, and find techniques and concepts to help new leaders grow quickly and professionally.

I'm excited to be a Speaker at HRFest 2026!

Parents, like myself, are always negotiating with today's kids. Parents get tired and throw out a 'big threat' to take away a big event or family trip, though in reality, the parents wouldn't cancel after planning it and investing in it. The kids know this, and manipulate or misbehave. How can good communication help? Watch this video to learn a quick adjustment to your verbal threat, that can actually work to increase compliance. Change the threat to a situation where the kids' behaviour can dictate their own level of fun. Feel free to share other parenting tips for this scenario below.
