I launched Shanny in the City in 2010 after realizing there was a real need for dating coaches in Toronto. As one of the first in the city, I became passionate about helping singles and divorced individuals re-enter the dating world with confidence, a positive mindset, and strategic guidance. I’ve always been fascinated by human connection, and I genuinely love helping people find meaningful relationships.

Our services include personalized dating-strategy coaching sessions, boutique matchmaking, Life-skills coaching and a Wingwoman service for those who may not have a single friends’ network to go out with.

I’ve partnered with Carla, an incredible photographer, because many of my clients want refreshed, authentic photos for their dating profiles. Together, we specialize in capturing natural, lifestyle-focused images that truly reflect who you are.

My advice to singles looking for love is to explore what approach works best for them—whether that’s online dating, attending speed dating events, working with a matchmaker, or starting with a dating coach. It’s important to feel comfortable with whoever you choose to guide you, because this process is deeply personal and tailored to helping you find a long-term partner.

A great first step is identifying the qualities you’re seeking in a partner—then asking yourself what makes you a great partner in return. The goal is to reflect the same qualities you hope to attract.
