This morning’s Daily Stoic by Seneca asked a question that made me stop and think:
What would less look like?
Less money. Less recognition. Less stuff. Less access. Less freedom. Less energy.
We spend so much of our lives chasing more. More business. More money. More clients. More opportunities. More followers. More things. But we rarely ask ourselves what would happen if we had less.
Seneca wrote about becoming comfortable with needing less. Not because ambition is wrong, but because there is tremendous freedom in knowing that your happiness does not depend on everything going your way.
That applies to business too.
Markets change. Income changes. Opportunities come and go. Some years give us more. Others give us less.
The question is whether we can still be okay.
There is something powerful about knowing you can adapt. You can simplify. You can make adjustments. You can appreciate what you have instead of constantly measuring what you don’t.
Maybe success isn’t always about adding more.
Sometimes it’s about discovering how little you actually need to live a really good life.
A good thought for this Friday's Stoic. What would less look like for you?
Have an amazing day.
