Our founding belief and the glowing sign over our printer. Have you properly staged your brand for ? One of the things we frequently see skipped in performance media, automation, and - frankly - sites is uber clear what / how / why messaging, applied to user testing. In our practice, we call this brand staging - it’s one part refinement of a messaging matrix, one part persona definition, and one part big old paid media testing bonanza. So we got on a (bunch of) planes and headed out from our respective cities on a work trip yesterday for the first time since early March 2020 (Topanga Canyon shoot, that was as good a way to go as any 🤪). We went observes experience one site, we did stakeholder interviews, we shared a spectacular team dinner with our partners - a day that would have seemed pretty normal two years ago, getting the extraordinarily special lens today. 🙏 We’re grateful for the new hybrid work model that we fully embrace (high fives for being able to pick up our kids and choose a leggings no video day when it’s needed), but we are also thrilled to be sharing space for collaboration, ideation, innovation, and insight with tier one smarties again. ✨

I know I talk about this stuff a lot, but the journey is hard, peeps. Honestly, as much as we collectively talk about the importance of resilience, I also don’t believe that the purpose of life is to struggle forever. (And sometimes I think what I can only dub resilience p**n kind of promotes that concept.) 😞 That’s why it’s so extraordinarily important for entrepreneurs to have things that separate themselves from their work, in order to develop a healthy mindset. 🙏 I spent a ton of years unable to distinguish these things, thinking that my work was me and I was my work. What did this create? An untenable mindset, where every business failure hit way harder than it should have. 🥺 A heathy entrepreneurial mindset isn’t about being able to keep up with constant struggle and carry on. It’s about being able to distinguish the difference between your business and your self, making space to experience and learn from the painful bits but not making those the centre of the day, the week, the month. ✅ Struggle, without question, is part of the entrepreneurial process, and that’s not going to change. But mindset is what will protect you from being trapped by it. 👏
