Making eye contact through Zoom is kinda strange.

When you're actually looking at someone on your screen, it doesn't look like you're making eye contact with them.

And when you look into the camera and appear to be making eye contact, you're not actually looking at anyone.

Though we're probably more comfortable looking at people's images on our screens, I think it's very important to ALSO look into the camera.

To me, the "illusion" of eye contact can make your presentation/message so much more engaging.

Interview Tip... especially for new graduates:

Companies aren't here to help YOU, you're being interviewed to see how you can help THEM.

When you're interviewing for a new job, try to avoid talking about how getting this job will help YOU (it will help me get ahead in my career, help me learn valuable skills, etc.).

INSTEAD focus on what excites you about the job itself, what you'd look forward to doing (the main roles/responsibilities), and how this relates to your skills and past experiences.

Make people feel that you actually WANT the job for the job itself! And leave them with the feeling of confidence that you're the person who not only WANTS the job, but is capable of crushing it! That's it.
