Pollutia is over the moon with gratitude for everyone who came to the farm over Thanksgiving weekend. The words of gratitude that were shared have all been woven into the poem below.
Title: A Daughter’s Gratitude
By Pollutia Nature & Guests of Forsythe Family Farms
Dedicated to: Mother Nature
Oh so many gifts that my Mommy does give,
All to make sure that things can live.
From sunshine and oxygen to the fresh air that flows,
Her heart and beautiful kindness certainly shows.
A whisper of rain for the seeds and the soil,
Through the heat of the sun, the abundant harvests toil.
Beneath the grass and the roots the bugs do their part,
They’ve given it their all, right from the start.
The rolling of oceans and the climbing of trees,
The sniffing of flowers done by buzzing honey bees.
From swinging on swings to crisp winter play,
All the toys and supplies fuel the imagination for days.
She nurtures the harvests through her daily communes,
To share a bounty of colours all good for our immune.
That fills up our family with food nutritiously wealthy,
There is no greater gift from the farm than a life that is healthy.
There is so much variety packed in the Earth,
It all grows underground, right there in the dirt.
Add some water and sunlight and let time do its thing,
And just see all the wonderful stuff my Mother does bring;
Honey with blueberries, strawberries too,
Broccoli's a favourite vegetable for so many of you!
The BBQ;s with hot dogs a seasonal must,
Like little orange pumpkins and nutmeg, a food duo to trust.
Mmmmmm, all the flavours and oh all those smells,
What’s my favourite? Oh gosh, it’s too hard to tell.
I’d have to say spaghetti, I love yummy noodles,
But not as much as my mom, who I love oodles and oodles.
