Imagine waking up and AI is just… gone. No ChatGPT. No smart assistants. No automation.

Today, nearly half of us rely on AI—at home, at work, and in critical decision-making. Behind the scenes, data centers power it all, processing immense amounts of data every second.

But there’s a growing challenge: AI’s rising demand for computing power is pushing servers to run hotter than ever, and data center cooling systems are being pushed to their absolute limits.

As we've already seen in the past, overheated servers can crash, with catastrophic results. And with AI now deeply embedded in financial, business, and government systems, the consequences of heat-induced outages is even greater.

In his latest white paper, our very own Arseny Moshkin explores this critical issue—and how the WinSMART™️ TY52 serves as a last line of defense against heat-induced outages.

Pressure instruments are more than just a tool for monitoring and controlling pressure. They are a substantial investment in your industrial infrastructure. When it comes to measuring pressure and flow of corrosive substances, however, additional steps must be taken to protect these instruments from serious damage.

Thick process fluids, such as slurries or viscous chemicals, often contain debris that can block or damage the delicate internal parts of pressure instruments. When these solids accumulate, they interfere with a pressure instrument's ability to provide accurate measurements.

Meanwhile, corrosive substances, common in many chemical and manufacturing processes, attack the metal surfaces inside the instruments. This steadily weakens parts, reduces their lifespan, and drives up maintenance and replacement costs.

Diaphragm seals, like those in Winters' family of products, solve these problems by acting as a physical barrier between corrosive fluids or damaging particles and your instrument's delicate internal parts.

A combination of aging infrastructure, growing respiratory health concerns and budgetary crunches have put schools across North America under immense pressure to quickly improve indoor air quality on a dime in recent years. In this niche sector, the future points to a rising need for versatile, cost-effective ventilation solutions.

According to the US Environmental Protection Agency, nearly half of all schools in the United States suffer from poor indoor air quality, contributing to a myriad of respiratory health issues and problems with academic performance for students.

These concerns grew particularly loud during the COVID pandemic, and continued to rise as last year's wildfires drew attention to the problem of smoke infiltration into school buildings. The average North American school is now nearly 50 years old, and many rely on outdated and worn mechanical ventilation systems. Despite repeated announcements of funding by governments, cost remains a major hindrance to HVAC upgrades.

One way to bring costs under control is to cut down on the number of moving parts in an HVAC system. And this is where Winters’ bestselling Winters’ PFD WinAIR Differential Pressure Gauge truly shines.

A "Timber Revolution" in construction is creating emerging opportunities for for the fire sprinkler industry, driven by insurance practices. Are you ready for it?

In recent years, improvements in building techniques and timber engineering have positioned wood as a competitive construction material to concrete and steel in large buildings. The recent use of laminates in timber production have also promised an acceptable level of fire resistance.

This “Timber Revolution” has now made it possible to build wood-framed buildings taller and larger than ever before.

However, insurers have been slow to adapt, and high premiums for timber-framed structures could pose a challenge for further expansion of the mass timber building market. But what if there was a way to reduce those costs?

Sprinkler systems could be the key. And our PFE series of sprinkler gauges are uniquely positioned to help you seize these emerging opportunities.

The push for lead-free drinking water is entering 2025 with growing support at the local level.

So far in 2025, experts in the water sector believe federal funds for replacing lead pipes will continue as planned in the near future. At the same time, local and state governments are stepping up their own efforts for safe drinking water.

Governors in North Carolina and Wisconsin kicked off 2025 with announcements pledging state funds for safe drinking water initiatives that include lead pipe replacement. At some municipalities, efforts are underway to fund lead pipe replacements independently of federal funds, or in conjunction with state grants.

The issue is becoming more top of mind in 2025 as governments are rolling out digital maps documenting how many lead pipes are in service within their jurisdiction. Needless to say, the spotlight on clean drinking water isn’t anticipated to fade any time soon.

And as part of this ongoing push for clean drinking water, Winters has you covered with a broad range of lead-free pressure gauges, thermometers and accessories on the market.

The Texas oil and gas industry has gotten off to a freezing start to 2025. Are your drilling operations protected against the extreme cold?

Early in the new year, the Railroad Commission of Texas (the state’s oil and gas production regulator) warned operators to brace for sudden onslaughts of freezing weather in the Permian basin and other oil-rich regions. As we’ve seen in the past, drastic temperature drops can severely disrupt drilling operations.

For many years, oil and gas producers have trusted Winters’ StabiliZR®️ line of gauges to maintain accurate readings in temperatures as low as -60C (-76F). In rigorous field tests, StabiliZR®️ gauges have proven to be a much more effective and lower cost solution than silicone gel gauges, which are traditionally used in freezing environments.

The unique technology behind StabiliZR®️ also dampens pointer flutter caused by vibration and pulsation in the surrounding environment without liquid fill. This not only makes pressure reading much easier, but also eliminates maintenance problems with leaking gauges and compatibility issues with process media.

Don’t let cold weather freeze your drilling operations. Learn more about our StabiliZR®️gauges in the links below!

A growing southern US oil boom is steadily expanding into regions far north of the Permian Basin. As drilling intensifies in these emerging frontiers, so too does the need to protect drilling operations from the effects of colder weather.

Oil producers are now hedging their bets on the rapidly growing Uinta Basin in northeastern Utah. But drilling in this emerging market involves more than just overcoming logistical challenges. It also entails a need to protect drilling operations in the colder Utah climate, where temperatures below freezing are common in the winter months.

These sudden dips in temperature can cause significant disruptions in oil production, and highlight the need for rugged instrumentation that can withstand the rigors of cold weather.

For many years, Winters’ flagship StabiliZR®️ line of pressure gauges have been the ideal solution for oil and gas producers drilling in freezing temperatures. StabiliZR®️ gauges provide accurate readings at temperatures as low as -76F (-60C), and are much more reliable and cost-effective than gauges filled with low-temperature silicone.

While the electronic display screens on digital gauges may stop working in the cold, you can count on the robust, mechanical construction of StabiliZR®️ gauges to give consistently clear readings in sub-zero temperatures.

As oil and gas production migrates towards new markets in colder climates, the need for reliable instrumentation has never been more apparent. For more information on how Winters’ StabiliZR®️ gauges can help protect your operations from cold weather, contact a Winters representative near you.

Today's the deadline for US utilities to submit their lead pipe inventories to the Environmental Protection Agency.

As part of the White House's goal of replacing 100% of lead pipes, American utilities are required to submit comprehensive inventories of how many lead service lines they have. These inventories will be made publicly available, and utilities will be required to notify the public if lead levels get dangerously high in drinking water.

At Winters, we’re ready to help you tackle this challenge. Our lead-free product lineup is built to keep you ahead of the curve in light of these legislative changes.
