🇨🇦What is the Express Entry Draw?
– Every month the Canadian government does the rounds of invitations to apply for permanent residency. You need to have a profile with the submitted information to participate in the draws. The earlier you create the profile, the better for you, as there is a new tie-breaking rule and according to the state the system will prioritize the candidates whose profile was created earlier.
-
🇨🇦How are you getting selected?
- IRCC ranks candidates in the pool using a point-based system, the so-called Comprehensive ranking system. They choose the highest-ranking candidates from the pool. Example img # 2
- Usually, there are 2 rounds of invitation per month (every 2 weeks), sometimes 3- but it happens very rarely.
- Every round the number of invites could differ, but all the time it is around 3500-3900.
-
🇨🇦What happens if you have the same amount of points as a cut off score?
The system will pick the top 3500-3900 based on the date and time you submitted the application. (the example image # 2)
-
🇨🇦Can I update my profile?
Yes! If you update your profile, the system will keep the original date and time stamp when you first submitted your profile. But, your profile will have a new time and date stamp if:
• you choose to withdraw your profile and create a new one instead or
• your profile expires, and you submit a new one
-
🇨🇦How can you check the next cut-off score?
You can’t, BUT you can estimate and check the distribution list of the points. If you see that the top levels are full and the number of people close to 3900 >, that means that the score is not going to drop (See the latest distribution list example as of Feb 14th, image # 3)
