I started this passion project the beginning of June of 2021 (For Eat Sake) as my way of supporting small businesses specifically restaurants/bars/ eateries who have been hit hard during the lockdowns.
I’ll be honest, it has sometimes been a bit challenging financing and producing these shorts, but with the support of my small, hardworking and loyal team Simone Vitellaro (my project manager) Mike Palozzi (post audio editor), we’ve managed to keep pushing them out on a monthly basis.
I’m committed to sharing these videos because It’s not just about what’s on the menu it’s also about their story, often times immigrants who came to this great country with a dream, and through hard work and dedication continue to realise that dream even during these trying times. A story that certainly resonates with me as I too came to this country by myself at 19, with a similar dream.
And it all pays off when I go to a restaurant (happened a couple weeks ago) and I’m told by the beaming restaurant owner that it’s because of the video promotions that there has been an upswing in customers. That truly warms my heart and makes me see the real worth in getting these stories out.
I will continue to donate my time filming and editing these wonderful stories and more importantly I will continue to celebrate the resilience of hard working immigrants who now call Canada home .
