Today, we commemorate International Women’s Day with a sense of gratitude and fortitude, the former for how far we’ve come, the latter for how much we still have to work on. We reflect on women being underrepresented in today’s corporate world and we are seeing a high number of women, especially women of color, leaving the workforce with Great Resignation.

We think having more women being featured, represented in a highly inclusive network so their ideas can be celebrated, energy can be fueled, and friendship can be built.

To continue with last week’s Expert Circle cohort one introduction, we would like to announce 4 amazing women joining our circle. In our first cohort, the women to men ratio is 5 to 4, which is still not at parity. However, we are confident that by giving more chances to women and underrepresented groups, we will have better ideas generated, better stories told. Please help us by giving a spotlight to awesome women in your network, nominate them!

Lately, our newsfeed is flooded with “Why I quit?” stories - igniting a labour crusade. From the viral video of Chloe Shih, a former product manager at Tik Tok explains how toxic work culture and lack of diversity made her quit to many other stories like employees from Amazon and Facebook left their “luxuractive careers”, many of these stories share the similar ending of pursuing personal happiness.

To many workers, that was a surprisingly liberating moment as “quitting” provides a better sense of control and a hope for a brighter future and a better tomorrow. We would like to take the moment of sharing some tips with you on how to plan for your career transition and eventually leave your jobs.

Happy Lunar New Year! The Chinese zodiac, Ox, is associated with hard work and serenity. We wish the new year bring new energy to the world, just like this hard-to-miss 3D animated bull has been making its appearance on the large LED screen: charging with energy and joining the fight against the pandemic to bring blessing and prosperity.
The whole screen measures in at 60.8m in width and 21.5m in height and an impressive total size of 1,310 sqm. This is one of the first 3D animations on a LED screen! Quite the feat!
We wish everyone a fabulous and safe year of the Ox.
