We are excited to announce our upcoming LYP Workshop, entitled "What's Your Real Name & Where Are You (Really) From?: DEI Communication Essentials for Anti-Asian Racism." The workshop will be facilitated by none other than our very own LYP alum and Team member, Executive Communications Coach & EDI Consultant, Angie Min Ah Park, Ph.D.

In this 90-minute interactive workshop, we will explore and practice concrete communication strategies for inclusion and allyship when speaking with your Asian friends and colleagues. The descriptor "Asian" encompasses a wide-ranging diversity of people with unique histories, politics, languages, cultures, and skin complexions. How can we acknowledge this diversity, while understanding and addressing many common experiences of anti-Asian racism? What should we consider and how should we approach communicating as an ally for our Asian friends, family, and colleagues? What should we avoid?

By the end of the session, you will have a greater understanding of how anti-Asian racism shows up differently from other forms of racism, why this difference matters, and how to use your power of communication to take action in combatting anti-Asian racism.

This workshop welcomes all participants including Asian learners and is an interactive workshop.

Be sure to register before the early-bird deadline on April 16th! Register and learn more about the workshop at https://lnkd.in/gZQGhFiB

Ask good questions and listen without judgement or imposing solutions - a simple formula to making employees more relaxed, engaged, open to considering other points of views and also more willing to reflect in a non-defensive manner.

Feedback is one of the most common ways we help others learn and develop. But it can backfire when people become defensive.
