The Canada List Founder, Matthew Shane will be chatting with Global News BC tomorrow morning about the resurgence of the Buy Canadian movement. Live interview will be at 6:40am; potentially repeated through the day (unknown to us at this point).

Nice for TCL, but mostly nice for the movement itself, which continues to gain steam.

We are currently experiencing an issue with some of our category level searches, which is causing certain categories to appear empty when searched at the category level. We're working on a fix as we speak.

Keyword searches still function well.

I know on Social Media it looks like Canadians are galvanizing against the Trumpian threats. But is this just a Threads movement, or is it a real phenomena across the country?

Yes, we have seen significantly increased traffic to www.theCanadaList.ca the last few days.

Amazing to see all of Canada so motivated to shop Canadian, to protect our economy.

BUT: we've seen this before: motivations are high, but life is busy and US products are easy. It's important to see this as a marathon, not a sprint burst.

Something that may help: join our mailing list, receive news, product info and shopping tips in your mailbox periodically. Small reminders of the mission.

Sadly, we updated Roots' entry today to reflect it's new agreement with Marquee brands.

To be fair, Roots has not been fully Canadian-owned for some time, and it sounds like the deal maintains Canadian headquarters and administration of day to day operations.

Their Canada Score of 5 remains unchanged, but we will continue to monitor as more details of the deal come out.

A sad sign of the times: Daily visitors to www.theCanadaList.ca spiked 546% yesterday.

Wish it wasn't necessary, but a huge thank you to all the Canadians who are renewing their motivations to shop Canadian in support of our country.

This feels important for the long-term generational wealth of the country. But taking 25B away from short-term expenditures could restrict social services further.
