Fi nishing is planned before the press runs, not after. Folding, stitching, binding, laminating, scoring, perforating and die-cutting aren't the last step of a print job. They shape the whole production plan. A fold decides how the pages are laid out on the sheet. A die-cut decides w hat paper can be used. A binding method decides page counts, margins and spine width. Leave those decisions until after printing and you can end up with cracked folds, trimmed copy or a job that has to be finished by hand. That's why we plan finishing alongside stock, press and imposition from day one, and coordinate printing and post-press as one workflow. The result: brochures that fold cleanly, reports that open flat and pieces that look the way they were designed. Have a project that needs folding, binding or die-cutting? Tell us about it early. via: via: https://urlbit.com/lSfat

Happy Thanksgiving from Canada Print Services.
Today we're thinking about the people who make our work possible: our clients.
Many of the businesses we print for have been with us for years. Their repeat programs, their annual reports, their forms and their event materials have become familiar work, and that familiarity is the whole point. When specifications are documented and expectations are understood, every run gets smoother than the last.
One client put it better than we could:
"I feel confident that I can relax when I need any marketing materials done." — Karen Mate, Amarillo Gold
That trust is something we don't take lightly. Thank you to every marketing manager, operations lead, designer and event planner who brings us their work.
Wishing you and your teams a restful long weekend.

He avier isn't always better. It's natural to assume a thicker stock says "premium." Sometimes it does. But paper choice shapes more than how a piece feels in the hand: • It affects how cleanly a brochure folds, and whether it cracks along the crease • It changes how images and dark colours reproduce • It adds weight, which matters when pieces are mailed or shipped to an event • It can push a job onto a slower, more labour-intensive finishing path The right stock is the one that fits how the piece will be used: handed out at a booth, mailed to clients, left on a reception desk or bound into a report. We help you balance feel and function before production, so the money goes into the part of the paper that your audience will notice. Planning a brochure or report? Tell us how it will be used and we'll recommend a stock. via: via: https://urlbit.com/bbjNk PaperStock

It looked perfect on screen. Paper can tell a different story.

A monitor lights up your design from behind. Paper reflects light, absorbs ink and moves through a press. Some details that look
sharp on screen don't reproduce the same way on paper:

• Fine type reversed out of a dark background can fill in
• Large solid dark areas can look uneven or take longer to dry
• Screen colours (RGB) shift when they're converted to print colours (CMYK)
• Thin rules and small serif text can break up on certain stocks

Our pre-press review catches these before a single sheet is printed. We check the files, the colour setup, the bleeds and the details that tend to cause trouble, then flag anything that needs a decision from you or your designer.

It's a small step that protects the whole run.

Send us your next file and we'll review it before production.

Home Show season starts today.

The Toronto Fall Home Show opens at the Enercare Centre this weekend, October 2–4. Next on the calendar: the GTA Home Show (January 29–31 in Mississauga) and the National Home Show (March 5–14 back at Enercare).

If you're walking the floor this weekend, notice which booths stop you. It's rarely the biggest space. It's the one with a clear roll-up banner, a sell sheet that matches it, and handouts that feel like they belong to the same brand.

If you're exhibiting in January or March, now is the right time to plan that print, not the week before load-in.

We produce roll-up banners, wide-format graphics, brochures, sell sheets and presentation folders for Toronto Home Show exhibitors, and coordinate delivery to the venue.
Roll-ups and wide format can be produced in the quantity your booth needs.

Send us your show, dates and quantities and we'll build the production plan.

Offset or digital?

The quantity picks the press, not habit. One of the most expensive print mistakes is running a job on the wrong equipment.

Offset printing earns its setup on larger commercial runs. It delivers consistent colour from the first sheet to the last, handles a wide range of paper stocks, and brings the unit cost down as quantities grow.

Digital printing is the right call when the quantity doesn't justify offset setup, or when every piece needs variable data such as names or numbers.

We don't default to one or the other. We look at the quantity, the stock, the colour requirements and how the piece will be used, then choose the production path that gives you the best value.
Planning a brochure, catalogue or report run this quarter?
Tell us the quantity and specification, and we'll recommend the right method before you commit.

Most printers quote your spec. We question it.

A print specification can look complete and still leave value on the table. Before anything goes to press, we review the whole job:
• Press choice: does the production route fit the quantity?
• Finished size: would a small change fit more pieces on the parent sheet?
• Paper: is the stock heavier than the job needs, and will it fold cleanly?
• Artwork: will fine type, reversed text and dark areas reproduce as expected?
• Finishing: can binding, scoring or folding be simplified without weakening the piece?

We call this value engineering. The point isn't to make every job cheaper. It's to make sure your budget goes to the parts of the piece that support the result.

Only the changes that improve the job get brought forward. Everything else stays exactly as you specified.

Have a brochure, report or catalogue coming up? Send us the current spec and how it will be used. We'll review it before you print.

Not a copy shop. A print production partner.

There's a difference between a place that runs your file and a partner that manages your job.

Since 2007, Canada Print Services has helped businesses across Toronto and the GTA plan, produce, finish and deliver commercial print: brochures, annual reports, booklets, business forms, cheques and tradeshow materials.
Every project is reviewed on its own. Quantity, stock, size, imposition, finishing and delivery are worked out before the press starts running, not after something goes wrong.
That's why many of our clients have stayed with us for years. Their specifications are documented, their expectations are understood, and each repeat run gets easier than the last.
If you have a planned or recurring print program coming up, send us the basics. We'll help shape the production plan.
