🎸 Ottawa music lovers, this one's for you.

This Saturday, local bands are coming together for Music for Memory, a charity concert supporting dementia research and care at Bruyère Health.

The event will feature live performances from The RACKET, ONS Dance Band, and Small Town Socials, with all ticket proceeds helping support Eastern Ontario's only dedicated memory clinic.

Dementia affects more than 700,000 Canadians, and for many families, access to specialized care and support can make a meaningful difference.

We recently took a closer look at the event, the cause behind it, and how the Ottawa community is coming together to make an impact.

Did you know that while Toronto ranks as a top city for accessibility in Canada, we still place 22nd globally? There is a massive difference between online claims of accessibility and the reality on the ground.

That is exactly what Maayan Ziv and the team at AccessNow are working to change.

AccessFest 2026 is returning to David Pecaut Square, and it’s one of the world's most accessible, barrier-free festivals. This free, 12-hour event is packed with incredible experiences, including:

🎶 Live music from Haviah Mighty and X Ambassadors

🗺️ Interactive MapMission Tours (including behind-the-scenes accessibility look at the Royal Alex and Princess of Wales theatres!)
⚽ Chair yoga and accessible soccer

🤟 An ASL workshop led by Super Bowl interpreter Julian Ortiz

Accessibility should be built directly into the design of our city, our tech, and our culture. Check out our latest feature on CharityAxess to see how this incredible event is building a roadmap for a truly inclusive Toronto. 👇
