Some *big news* on Brazil Potash!

The company has recently announced the formation of an Advisory Board chaired by a former executive from Nutrien, the world's largest potash producer. The board also includes several former Brazilian Senators, an ex-minister of Agriculture, and a former Attorney General. This impressive group will provide sector expertise, country insights, and investor relationships to help advance the project.

Their support further underscores the importance of constructing the Autazes Potash project to contribute significantly to global food security.

Forbes & Manhattan recently commemorated and reflected on the 20-year anniversary of continuous production of the Jacobina Gold Mine.

The Jacobina gold mine located in state of Bahia, Brazil ceased operations in 1998 by the previous owner and was purchased by Forbes & Manhattan in 2002.

Forbes & Manhattan lead by Stan Bharti saw potential where others did not. With a team of highly qualified professionals, Forbes & Manhattan secured financing, undertook Exploration, Permitting, Engineering, Mine development, and Construction using the best mining technology. Co-ordinating a multidiscipline fast-track approach Forbes started these activities in 2002 and achieved commercial gold production at Jacobina in 2005. At that time, no one was confident that this undervalued mining asset could turn into a top-tier gold mining project. Forbes & Manhattan sold the Jacobina gold mine to Yamana Gold in 2006.

The passing of Lukas Lundin. Salute to a viking.

Lukas Lundin, an icon in the business of natural resources and commodities, tragically passed away on July 26th, 2022 at the young age of 64. He was a legend in our circle, having taken the business started by his father, Adolf Lundin, to new heights, making the Lundin brand one of the most successful in mining and oil and gas worldwide. As up-and-coming entrepreneurs, we revered him and were secretly jealous of his success.

With his infectious laugh and brazen approach to life, he was truly unique. I called him Viking, because he embodied all the traditions of his ancestors, doing business in a bold style, taking chances and, of course, extremely adventurous in his personal life as he jet settled around the world, consummating deals in all kinds of commodities!

Never one to give up, he was full of energy and hope to the end. I was in Geneva in July and wanted to have lunch with him. Almost immediately, he set a date of July 27th at his home in Geneva. Tragically he passed away the night before!

Although he lived most of his life in Canada, he never forgot his Swedish roots. When ordering a drink, he would always say “I take a beer “, a very Swedish way of ordering!

My condolences to your family and friends. You will be sorely missed in our mining circles and by me my family.

“Congratulations to Paul Anka, a close friend and Special Advisor to Forbes & Manhattan Group, on receipt of the “Officer in the National Order of Merit”, a top honour, from the President of France, Mr. Marcon. Mr. Anka is a world-renowned artist and musician, originally from Canada.

He is best known for his signature hit songs including "Diana", "Lonely Boy", "Put Your Head on My Shoulder", and "(You're) Having My Baby". Anka also wrote the theme for The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson; one of Tom Jones' biggest hits, "She's a Lady"; and the English lyrics to Claude François and Jacques Revaux's music for Frank Sinatra's signature song "My Way", which has been recorded by many, including Elvis Presley. Three songs he co-wrote with Michael Jackson: "This Is It" (originally titled "I Never Heard")[1] "Love Never Felt So Good", and "Don't Matter to Me", which became posthumous hits for Jackson in 2009, 2014, and 2018, respectively.
