A Positive Month for Canadian Hiring

Canada’s May 2026 labour market update brought some encouraging numbers.

Statistics Canada reported that 88,000 jobs were added in May, while the unemployment rate fell to 6.6%. For the sectors JP Recruitment follows closely, the update also included approximately 15,000 manufacturing jobs added and approximately 27,000 construction jobs added.

It is a positive reminder that hiring activity continues across important parts of the Canadian economy and that skilled people remain a key part of growth, performance, and project ex*****on.
