What You’ll Do:
Lead and manage enterprise-scale IT modernization and cybersecurity programs focusing on protecting Ontario’s CVAs.
Oversee Data Projection and Information Security projects with senior leadership, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Develop, implement, and review security architectures, including Data Loss Prevention (DLP), data classification, encryption, and database activity monitoring tools like IBM Guardium.
Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, and deliverables.
Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and communicate project status and security posture to executive leaders.
Champion “security by design” principles, embed best practices, and ensure operational readiness for ongoing security support.
Required Skills:
Proven leadership in managing high-impact enterprise security and cybersecurity programs.
Extensive experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP), enterprise database monitoring (preferably IBM Guardium), encryption, and identity/access management (IAM).
Deep understanding of security controls such as network security, firewalls, MFA, PKI, cloud security, and SOAR tools.
Strong project management skills with proficiency in methodologies like PMBOK, ITIL, or ISO 27001.
Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, communication, and executive reporting skills.
Ability to assess, strategize, and implement security solutions in complex environments.
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience with health data initiatives aligned with Ontario’s integrated health data vision.
Knowledge of Ontario’s health data legislation such as PHIPA and involvement in projects supporting the “Connected and Convenient Care” plan.
Familiarity with government regulatory frameworks and compliance standards.
