Business Start-Up Advisory Services Available!

A successful business support service in West Kootenay just got a whole lot bigger. 📈

The Start-Up Business Advisor (SUBA) service is expanding to support entrepreneurs in the East Kootenay and Boundary region, in addition to continuing in the West Kootenay where it has been available since 2023. The reason we’re able to expand is because of the generous support of ETSI-BC.

As more people across the region look to start businesses and build local livelihoods, the need for practical, accessible support has grown too. SUBA was built to meet that demand.

Delivered by Community Futures Central Kootenay, the program helps entrepreneurs move from idea to implementation with real-world guidance and support.

You may recognize some of these smiling faces! Members of our Board of Directors and staff attended the regional Board Bootcamp in Nelson on May 1, 2026, hosted by Community Futures Central Kootenay.

This annual event is attended by CF offices in the Kootenay, Columbia, and Boundary regions and provides an opportunity for our Directors to share ideas, learn a few things, and make new connections.
