If you live in the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary (RDKB) and have a lower household income, you may be eligible for no-cost home energy improvements through the Energy Conservation Assistance Program (ECAP).

Depending on your home and eligibility, upgrades could include a heat pump or dual-fuel heating system, insulation, air sealing, and other improvements that can make your home more comfortable, energy efficient, and better prepared for the seasons ahead.

Applications are now open for the tuition-free Industry Ready Carpentry Foundation Program. Eligible participants can gain hands-on training, industry-recognized certifications, enhanced safety training and a six-week paid work placement with a local employer.
Starting August 31, 2026, the program includes employment preparation and job-search support to help you transition into the workforce. Financial assistance may also be available for eligible participants.
