Ulnooweg is deeply saddened by the passing of cherished Elder Patsy Paul-Martin of Millbrook First Nation.

Elder Patsy was a respected Knowledge Keeper, educator, and fluent Mi’kmaw language speaker who dedicated her life to teaching, cultural revitalization, and community. Lovingly known as β€œKiju” by many, she carried herself with warmth, strength, humour, and generosity, always welcoming others with open arms and kind words.

We were honoured to spend time with her sharing p~tewey and listening to her teachings. Her words continue to stay with us: β€œIf you know where you come from, then you will know where you are going.” She reminded us that anything is possible when we remain grounded in who we are and where we come from.

Her legacy lives on through her family, community, language, and the many lives she touched along the way.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and to all who knew and loved her.

Wela’lin, Kiju Patsy, for your teachings, your strength, and your spirit. We shall remember you always.

πŸ… 10K Medal Story Reveal!

This year’s 10K medal features Kitpu, the eagle, designed by L’nu artist Dwight Isaac.

The eagle is known for its perspective, strength, and ability to rise above challenges. Created for our longest distance, this medal reflects the determination it takes to keep pushing forward and trust the road ahead.

A strong finish, a new goal, or simply proving something to yourself. Every runner arrives at this distance with their own story.
